Difference between CNC machining and traditional machining

1. Machining process

In the ordinary machining process, simplified processing can be carried out in terms of positioning datum, clamping mode, cutting tool, cutting method, etc., but the data processing process is relatively complex, and these factors need to be fully considered. Moreover, even for the same machining task, there can be multiple schemes for NC machining process, Multiple machining parts and machining tools can be arranged as the main line. The process has the characteristics of diversification, which is the difference between NC machining process and traditional machining process.

2. Machining fixture and fixture

In the process of CNC machining, not only the coordinate direction of fixture and machine tool is needed to ensure relative fixation, but also coordinate the dimensional relationship between parts and machine tool coordinate system. In the clamping process, the two steps of positioning and tightening need to be effectively controlled. Under the traditional machine processing technology, due to the limited processing capacity of the machine tool itself, it needs to be packed many times in the processing process. Special fixtures are needed, which will lead to higher design and manufacturing costs of fixtures, and virtually increase the production cost of products. The positioning of CNC machining process can be debugged with instruments, and in most cases, there is no need to design special fixtures, so its cost is relatively low.

3. Machining tool

In the machining process, the selection of cutting tools needs to be determined according to the differences between the machining process and machining methods. Especially in CNC machining, high-speed cutting can not only improve the machining efficiency, but also ensure the machining quality, effectively reduce the possibility of cutting deformation and shorten the machining cycle. Therefore, it tells the cutter that the demand for the cutter is further increased.

At present, there is also a dry cutting method. This cutting method cuts without cutting fluid or only a small amount of cutting fluid, so the tool needs good heat resistance. Compared with the machining process of ordinary machine, CNC machining process has high requirements for the performance of cutting tools.
